[R] Strange Angels, by: Lili St. Crow

Strange Angels
(Strange Angels #1)
by: Lili St. Crow

★★★☆☆

In Strange Angels, Dru Anderson has what her grandmother called “the touch.” (Comes in handy when you’re traveling from town to town with your dad, hunting ghosts, suckers, wulfen, and the occasional zombie.) Then her dad turns up dead—but still walking—and Dru knows she’s next. Even worse, she’s got two guys hungry for her affections, and they’re not about to let the fiercely independent Dru go it alone. Will Dru discover just how special she really is before coming face-to-fang with whatever—or whoever— is hunting her?

my thoughts
This was an strange book. I really don't know what to think about it. I really like the beginning, not all, but I still like it. But then... I dunno i begin to read more fast and doing a lot of breaks. The book is short, that's why I finish today. I know that it says that I have been reading this like almost a week. But I was not! This book is/was for a Book Club and yesterday, Thursday, was our first book talk about it. I was suppose to read the first chapters and I did. It was pretty cool, so I continue the reading. Now, I don't know what to think about the book. It was not boring, but it wasn't that awesome.

Dru Anderson. Seriously, what kind of name is that? All the characters name ARE weird, even the names of the strange creatures. I thought that the names were spelling errors. There are a lot of strange things. The vampires are called suckers, but the half-sucker and half-human are called djamphir. The werewolves are called werwulfen. So many things. Even Dru is another thing there that I cannot remember spelling correctly.

The plot is simple are even monotonuos. Her mom was murdered long time ago when she was a girl and she don't know anything about it and never asked her dad. Her dad, Dwight Anderson, is someone they called hunters. From what I can suspect, he became one the day his wife was murdered. He go wacked, like Dru said, and begin to hunt that someone, or more like something, down. Dru stayed with her grandma almost her whole life while her dad was out hunting, until her grandma died and she begin to travel the states with him. She knows how to fight, manage guns and other things, thanks to her dad. Oh... and she have something that her grandma called "the touch". Dru can see strange things, like ghosts. One day, her dad went out in a "mission" and didn't came back... well, when he did, he was not longer he. More like it. Someone turned him in a zombie and she... well, Dru kill him, because of obvious reasons. But the person and/or thing that made her dad zombie is trying to hunt her too. Will she be hunted?

She got two "friends": Graves and Christophe (see what I told you about the names). Both boys have a really long story that you will know if you read the book. Ha! I'm not telling you. But from what I can tell and I could see in the book is that they are both good and care about Dru. Now that she doesn't have anyone anymore its good that she have them around.

I really wish that the next book become more... with more action, because hell! How I will read the whole series if the books doesn't get any good? The book is not bad, but I do not recommend it for fun.
