[R] City of Ashes, by: Cassandra Clare

City of Ashes
(Mortal Instruments #2)
by: Cassandra Clare

★★★★★

Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.

To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?
my thoughts
Okay, let get this straight! I read this book like the last summer (july 2012 to be exact) and I have never made a review of it. Well, for none of the book of this series have a review, except City of Bones, but guess what? I made that review the other day.

So, Cassandra Clare strikes again! I'm sure that when I read this book, I didn't like it that much. Yes, it was awesome and perfect. But the simple reason that Clary and Jace are "siblings" made my time reading more fast. I really was reading very fast this book. I was trying to find that indeed they were not brother and sister.

That didn't stop me to find that the whole book was and is perfect. It made me cry for Simon. it made confussed about Jace, Clary and Valentine situation. This book have grief, not completly but it have. We see Clary suffering because her mom, Jocelyn, still in coma and because her love for Jace cannot be fullfil. Jace is suffering too; he is rejected by her adoptive mom, Maryse, and he cannot love Clary like he wants to. Simon is a long story, but we see that he feels like shit with his new "status".

Shit! I need to re-read this series and SOON! I'm forgeting things... what a shame. You should read it, though.
